Hwang Dong-hyuk, the director of Netflix's , has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award (Creator Tribute) at the Gossamer Awards, a television awards ceremony in the United States.

According to an announcement made on the official website of the Gossamer Film and Media Institute on the 25th, Director Hwang has been selected as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 'Gossamer 2025 TV Awards', which will be held in New York, USA, on June 2.

This award is a prestigious honour given to creators who have expanded the boundaries of the television industry and left a significant impact.

The Gossamer Awards stated in an official announcement, " has received global acclaim and has established itself as a landmark in modern TV series," adding, "Director Hwang captivated audiences around the world with a series that possesses both thrill and cultural identity."

Although Director Hwang has won numerous awards at various international ceremonies, including the Emmy Awards, for the series, this will be his first time receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Gossamer Awards, which have been held annually since 1991, are a major ceremony highlighting independent films and dramas, and previously won an award in the 'Innovative Series over 40 Minutes' category at the same ceremony in 2021.
