tvN drama 〈Life of Wise Residents〉 (hereafter referred to as 〈Life of Res〉), which was delayed due to legislative conflict issues, is finally set to meet its viewers.

tvN announced at the 〈Life of Res〉 production presentation held at the Ramada Seoul Sindorim Hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul, on the 10th that the first broadcast is confirmed for the 12th.

〈Life of Res〉, which began filming in 2023, was initially scheduled to air last year. However, the government's policy to increase medical school quotas and the medical community's backlash against it became a social issue, causing the broadcast schedule to be postponed.

Executive producer Shin Won-ho explained, "The (legislative conflict) incident occurred after filming began, and the schedule that was planned for last year was gradually delayed," adding, "I was solely worried that the content, which should be enjoyed, might be interpreted incorrectly for any reason."

He continued, "Producing and releasing the content is our part, and whether viewers scrutinize or critique it is entirely up to them," adding, "We can only wait for the judgment."

〈Life of Res〉 is a spin-off work following tvN's flagship series 〈Reply〉 and 〈Hospital Playlist〉.

Director Lee Min-soo, who is in charge of directing, stated, "It's about doctors, but instead of focusing on professors, the protagonists are relatively inexperienced residents," adding, "We tried to maintain the atmosphere of the existing 〈Hospital Playlist〉 while also providing differentiated fun."

This work expands the universe of 〈Hospital Playlist〉, and actors such as Jung Kyung-ho and Kim Dae-myung, who were called '99s' (characters from the 1999 freshman year) in the original work, will make special appearances.

Creator Shin stated, "Everyone agreed to appear so readily," adding, "Actors Jung Kyung-ho and Kim Dae-myung even wanted to be included in the cast list, not as special appearances."

The main characters of this drama are obstetrics and gynecology residents, with young actors such as Ko Yoon-jung, Shin Si-ah, Eom Jae-il, Kim Sa-bi, and Jung Jun-won appearing.

Kang Yoo-seok, who gained recognition in 〈Boksak Sokan Suda〉 as Eun-myung, shared his thoughts: "Eun-myung has now become a doctor," adding, "It was so enjoyable and fun to film that I'm sad it's ending."

Actor Jung Jun-won said, "It's been about a year since we filmed, so I've forgotten some of the content," adding with a laugh, "Now, I think I can watch it from a more objective viewer's perspective."
